The Olathe Northwest boys swim and dive team along with all other winter sports kicked off the season this week. The boy’s season runs from November to February.
ONW senior and one of this years team captains, Mitch Willis, said he is most excited about “being a senior on the team this year. In the past we have always had other leaders and I feel like it’s my time to step up and take charge.”
The other captains this year include seniors Zach Willis and Clark Thomas. This year, the swimming and diving will be practicing together at prairie trail middle school instead of being at different practice sites.
Willis has high hopes for the team as well as individually this year. He said, “My goals for the team is to instill a hard work ethic in the younger kids on our team. Individually I hope to place first at State.”
