Aaron Hafner Named Head Football Coach

With the retirement of coach Chip Sherman, Olathe Northwest has tapped Aaron Hafner as the man to lead them into the future.

Hafner comes from Luther College (2012-2017) in Decorah, Iowa.  Luther posted a 6-4 record last season in Hafner’s fifth year, their best mark since 2005. Much of his success comes from his time at William Penn University (2006-2012) as offensive coordinator where his offense broke the NAIA national record for rushing yards in a season. The Pittsburg State grad also has experience at four different Kansas and Missouri high schools. Before finishing his degree at Pitt State, Hafner played quarterback and wide reciever at Southwest Baptist University from 1993-1996.

His resignation from Luther comes from a want to be closer to family in the Kansas City, Kansas area, per The Courier.

Olathe Northwest went 4-6 in coach Sherman’s final year while also getting their first playoff win in school history.
