ACT & SAT Info & Dates

Students who plan to go directly to a 4 year college after high school need to take the ACT or the SAT test beginning in the second semester of their junior year. It is recommended that students take the tests a minimum of two times. Students planning on going to college in the Midwest need to take the ACT test only and it is recommended that they take the writing portion at least once. Students planning to attend a highly selective university or a college on either coast should take the SAT. Students planning on attending a junior college are not required to take either the ACT or SAT; junior colleges have their own entrance exams. Please visit your students’ college of choice’s website to find out which admissions exam is required.

All students should arrive to ONW on the test date by no later than 7:45 a.m. Students must have a picture ID and admission ticket with downloaded photo in order to test.
