Last week was great! Our Senior Recognition Meet on Tuesday was a success. I appreciate the efforts of the parents that helped to make the recognition of the seniors special. The balloon arrangements and posters were appreciated.
The Ravens placed third at the Emporia Invitational. I know everyone enjoyed the BBQ on the way home. Thanks to Shelly Duroe for organizing the stop at Guy and Mae’s.
The divers competed in the Shawnee Mission East Diving Invitational on Saturday. Drew Egan placed second and Josh Read took ninth place.
This coming week brings us to the Sunflower League Meet. League will be hosted by Olathe North at the Mission Trail Pool. Mission Trail is located at 1001 North Persimmon Drive. Since we do not have school Friday, the swimmers will need to provide their own transportation to the meet. The swimmers need to be at Mission Trail by 2:15 PM on Friday and by 11:00 AM on Saturday. Diving will be on Saturday. Robert Ayers will tell the divers what time he wants them to report Saturday morning. The prelims for swimming will start at 5:00 PM on Friday and the Finals for swimming and diving will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday. I have attached a copy of the meet information to this email.
We are now in what I call the “championship phase” of the season. Competitions and practices become even more important with the Kansas State Meet getting closer. Make sure that your swimmer or diver is getting proper rest and is maintaing a proper diet. The boys also need to watch their hydration.
I hope to see everyone at the Sunflower League Meet on Friday and Saturday to support the team.
Go Ravens!!
