Christiane Branstrom

Coach Branstrom has over 13 years of coaching experience including summer league teams, Lawrence Aquahawks, KC Blazers and was the Girls Head Coach for 5 years at SMNW where they won the Sunflower League and she was named Coach of the Year by the KC Star.  After taking some time off coaching and teaching to stay home with her kids she accepted the Boys Head Coach position for ONW  in 2016 and will be taking over as Head Coach for the girls team this year.  Coach Branstrom is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education degree with a Masters in Education in Exercise Physiology and Sports Administration emphasis.  She teaches PE Activities and Strength and Conditioning at Olathe Northwest.  She is married to Joel Branstrom and has 4 children- Jaiden, Noah, Emma and Bryan.

 

Alissa Ruffin

Alissa has over 20 years of coaching experience including Mill Valley High School, De Soto High School, KC Blazers, and the City of Mission Swim Club.  She started swimming competitively at the age of nine.  A recreational hobby turned into a love of the sport and a passion for coaching.  She was a varsity swimmer at Shawnee Mission North High School and was a member of their State team.  She has been the head coach for the City of Mission Swim Club since 2004 where she currently manages a 280+ team of 5-18 year olds while working alongside four assistant coaches.  In 2012, she started the competitive swim programs (boys and girls) at both Mill Valley High School and De Soto High School which continue to grow and thrive today.  She is thrilled to be a part of the Olathe Northwest coaching team this year!  She currently teaches 7th grade math at Chisholm Trail Middle School.  She is a graduate of Kansas State University (go Cats!) and has her master’s degree in educational leadership.  She currently lives in Olathe with her husband Jason and two daughters, Maryn and Ellie.
