Rosa Adams-Bussard

Rosa Adams-BussardPrior to coming to Olathe Northwest, Rosa Adams-Bussard taught in the Lee’s Summit School R-7 District for 15 years. The last 14 of those years were at Lee’s Summit North High School as Director of Bands and Percussion.  Her teaching experience also includes teaching in Northern California, Southwest Science Math Magnet High School Kansas City and Northeastern Missouri.  She extends many thanks to all of the mentors, great teaching situations, parents and talented students. This is only one of the reasons these programs have been of great success.

She received her bachelors degree from Central Missouri State University in Music Education and Percussion Performance.  She received her Masters in Music Education and Percussion Performance from UMKC, Conservatory of Music.

She has had experience working with many conference, district and state level bands and musical ensembles. She has had the pleasure of being involved with many levels of DCI, BOA, and Honor Percussion Ensembles.   She enjoys being active as a clinician and adjudicator in the areas of band and percussion.  She also enjoys playing percussion with the Kansas City Civic Orchestra, Woman’s Jazz Festival Association, and Lee’s Summit Symphony.

She holds memberships in the Music Educators National Association, Missouri Music Educators Association, Missouri Band Directors Association, Percussive Arts Society, Sigma Alpha Iota, Phi Kappa Lambda, Phi Beta Mu and The Woman Band Directors National Association.

Rosa looks forward to the great musical future of the Olathe Northwest Raven Pride bands.
