Guys and Dolls: Makenzie Dir’s Journey to the Top

Makenzie Dir has been acting since she was in middle school, starting with small roles. When she came to Olathe Northwest and participated in her first big musical, The Wizard of Oz, her love for theater flourished. For the next two years, she worked hard in the musicals but never got to claim the lead role.

This year as a senior, Makenzie Dir finally was able to get a lead roll in the production of Guys and Dolls. She is playing the role of Adelaide, a feisty blonde New York show girl desperate for marriage. ONW Theatre Director, Robin Murphy, knew Makenzie was the perfect fit for this role throughout the course of rehearsals while learning lines and songs. Makenzie was able to adapt to her character making herself fit the role of Adelaide perfectly.

Come out and see Makenzie Dir and the rest of the Guys and Dolls Cast November, 2nd-4th at 7pm for $10.
