It’s that time of year again; tricks, treats, and of course the first blood drive for the 2011-2012 school year. The blood drive is being held on November 11th from 10am-6pm. Last year, the March blood drive was in honor and memory of student Zach Myers, who passed away. This blood drive is once again in remembrance of Zach Myers.
“Giving blood is important because it is an easy thing to do,” junior Nick Stauffer explains, “it takes only about an hour and in that hour you could be saving a life.”
Stauffer encourages everyone to donate, but make sure you fit the requirements first.
“You must be 16 years or older and 115 pounds or more. People are often scared because they think they are going to faint, but as long as you eat and drink enough water the day before and the day of you will be just fine.” Stauffer said.
Students can either sign up at lunch in the coming weeks or can sign up anytime online here.
