Weafer Crowned King

In case you are unaware of whom he is, Jack Weafer is ONW’s biggest fan. Some see him as a statistical genius while others see him as homecoming king. All of which are true.

“Last week was the best week of my life,” Weafer said. “There was so much going on and it was just a great time.”

Last Friday, at the homecoming football game, dreams were made. Jack Weafer was in his natural element, on his home turf, while being crowned homecoming king.

“If you were to rate my happiness on a scale from 1-10, I’d say I was at a 10 last Friday night,” he said.

When Jack was nominated for homecoming court, the excitement came all at once. He never saw himself as a people pleaser so just being nominated left Jack a sense of personal satisfaction.

“I never knew my peers actually noticed me and being nominated for homecoming court has definitely been a highlight in my life,” Weafer said.

After receiving numerous tweets about the support Jack has behind him, there wasn’t a doubt in his mind about winning. He felt as if ONW was on his side and lets just say that a lack of confidence isn’t in Jacks tone of voice.

“I knew I was going to win,” he said. “I had gotten several thousand votes and I knew the entire student body was rooting for me.”

He describes the feeling of winning as priceless. Weafer also mentions that winning homecoming king wasn’t the biggest part either.

“For me it wasn’t really the winning, it was the overall experience that was important,” he said.

The homecoming parade was Jacks favorite event about the overall involvement. The main reason being was because people actually perceived him.

“Getting to be in the parade was the best part of this,” he said. “People were able to see me and I really got noticed.”

Jack would also like to give a special thanks to the Raven family along with his homecoming queen Haley Plaas.

“First, I would like to thank the student body for voting me and for believing I could do it,” he said. “Secondly, I would like to thank Haley for being such and awesome queen.”
