Mark is entering his 17th year has a Head Softball Coach with the last 12 at Olathe Northwest. During this time, he has achieved a record of 220-45 at ONW. Mark has helped lead his teams to seven league championships, nine regional championships, the Elite Eight in 2001 in Georgia, and a state runner-up in 2008 and 2015. In 2009, Olathe Northwest went 25-0 and won the 6A state title; it is the first state title in ONW’s school history. In 2011 they won their second 6A state title, and won their 3rd state title in 2017. Coach Mahoney has been named “Coach of the Year” nine times during his tenure, including “Olathe Coach of the Year” in 2008, and “Kansas Softball Coach of the Year”, and Midwest Sectional coach of the Year in 2009 and 2017. Mark teaches Physical Education and Health at Olathe Northwest High School. He resides in Olathe with his wife, Tara, and two children, Tayler and Addyson.
